The 2009 Colorado State Cyclocross Championships were held on December 5th at the North Area Athletic Complex in Arvada, CO.  This is the third year in a row OnSight Media has covered the event for televised broadcast.  This year we raised the bar by premiering the show on Altitude with a 6-show run.  The program will then move to Comcast CET after January 13th for a minimum of 20 additional airings.

We recently completed a video project for The Art Underground that included creating a DVD & online video as well as a separate DVD to be played on an LCD display inside a local bank’s window space.  A small amount of actual video production was required in conjunction with several hours of video that The Art Underground had already recorded.  The video highlights  the classes that are offered including theater, dance, music, photography and visual arts.  The video will be used on an ongoing basis to promote the classes and events to the local community and beyond.

The Art Underground is in the process of integrating the video into their own website.

On Thursday March 27th Kevin Cawley put together Boulder’s first Facebook Developer Garage. We joined forces with Kevin and provided a live video broadcast of the event. Here are the details of the broadcast:

We used a Panasonic DVX100A mounted on a tripod with an Audio Technica AT897 shotgun microphone. We connected the the camera to a Dell laptop via Firewire and used UStream’s free live video broadcasting service. We also ran audio out of the camera via RCA and connected to the laptop via the microphone jack. A little tweaking was necessary for clean audio, and we were provided with instant feedback via the UStream chat room once the audio was fixed. Initially we only had 3 online viewers for the live video broadcast, but as word got out via email, blogs and eventually Twitter, the viewer count climbed as high as 43 simultaneous viewers. The chat room remained a hot spot with most of the online viewers participating. The live stream was up for over 2 hours without a hitch.
