DigitalGlobe Analysis Center Videos

For much of 2011 we have been working on a video project with the DigitalGlobe Analysis Center team located in Longmont, Colorado. The Analysis Center provides a layer of detail and information to DigitalGlobe’s high resolution sateellite imagery (click here for a more detailed overview of the DigitalGlobe Analysis Center).

The video series provide sub 5-minute news style reports that cover current world events and showcase DigitalGlobe’s imagery and analysis. Until recently, these reports have only been released internally, as a way to get feedback to polish the final video product. The first publicly available video is an overview of the Analysis Center and was created for display in DigitalGlobe’s booth at the 2011 GEOINT conference. The video was also added to DigitalGlobe’s YouTube channel and is embedded below. Fast Company also embedded the video in their article about “Google Earth, Foreign Wars, And The Future Of Satellite Imagery”

G’Knight Imperial Red Re-Launch

The fine folks at Oskar Blues have been keeping uss busy lately. This video was put together on February 19th and highlights Gordon Knight’s birthday and launch of G’Knight Imperial Red at the Tasty Weasel Taproom. It was also Erik the Viking’s final Colorado show. The day included Music, food, Fundraising for the Lyons Community Foundation, Helicopter rides, beer and a great atmosphere.

ABC Nightline Video Footage

During the final week of the 2010 Tour de France, ABC Nightline contacted VeloNews regarding an upcoming story they were producing about Floyd Landis and doping in professional cycling. ABC needed sound bites from John Wilcockson, a journalist who has been covering the Tour for the past 42 years. An interview was coordinated and John answered questions asked by an ABC point of contact via cell phone.

This footage was recorded outside of the press room 6 kilometers from the summit of the Col du Tourmalet, about an hour before the finish of stage 17. Roughly 10-seconds was used during ABC’s 30-minute TV program, which aired on July 23, 2010. The video above shows the total amount of video footage collected and sent to ABC. Columbia Muddy Buddy Boulder

This is the third year in a row OnSight Media has been the official production company for the Muddy Buddy Boulder event. Columbia is the title sponsor this year in all 18 cities across the US. The production workflow consisted of a single camera and operator that followed the racers around the Boulder reservoir as they completed each obstacle. Post production took a couple of days to edit and encode the individual video clips for online viewing via the Columbia Muddy Buddy website. Additional video on DVD will be used for future event promotion.

3x Ironman World Champion Chrissie Wellington was in attendance in Boulder, CO as the official race starter. She also participated with the 10-year old Mini-Muddy Buddy field for a trip through the mud pit:

True to tradition was the costume contest, which takes place in the early morning before the official race start. Here are the best costumes from the Boulder event:

2010 Remarkable Women

The Boulder County Business Report held the inaugural Remarkable Women event in late April. The event recognized the accomplishments of 12 women in 11 categories. The BCBR staff selected the winners from approximately 100 nominations. We were contracted to produced individual interviews with each winner and provide a DVD and digital files to be played during the event, and used on the BCBR Facebook video page – http://goo.gl/fbsS

SRAM Tour of the Gila

Silver City, NM hosts the “biggest little bike race in America” in late April. This year was the 24th edition of the race and SRAM stepped in as the title sponsor. We were brought along to document the event and provide video material for The Road Diaries blog / social media channel. Gubna Imperial IPA

Oskar Blues Brewery recently added a new high octane beer to their family. The 10% ABV 100IBU beer is called the Gubna Imperial IPA. We produced a short form video on the day the beer was canned and officially released. Oskar Blues used this video in their online marketing campaign to get the word out about this new brew in their arsenal.
