On Thursday March 27th Kevin Cawley put together Boulder’s first Facebook Developer Garage. We joined forces with Kevin and provided a live video broadcast of the event. Here are the details of the broadcast:

We used a Panasonic DVX100A mounted on a tripod with an Audio Technica AT897 shotgun microphone. We connected the the camera to a Dell laptop via Firewire and used UStream’s free live video broadcasting service. We also ran audio out of the camera via RCA and connected to the laptop via the microphone jack. A little tweaking was necessary for clean audio, and we were provided with instant feedback via the UStream chat room once the audio was fixed. Initially we only had 3 online viewers for the live video broadcast, but as word got out via email, blogs and eventually Twitter, the viewer count climbed as high as 43 simultaneous viewers. The chat room remained a hot spot with most of the online viewers participating. The live stream was up for over 2 hours without a hitch.

We completed the 4th and final new community video for Frontier Communities – The Town Homes at Murphy Creek.  The video highlights the features and amenities of the town homes and showcases each model home and surrounding community.  The clip is available on the FrontierLiving.com website as well as a number of popular video sharing sites.

We recently finished the first of 3 video home tours for Dimensions, Inc. a Colorado Custom Home Builder. These videos showcase the features and amenities of each home and provide the viewer with an in-depth overview of the homes interior and exterior features.  We produced an online video viewable on the Dimension, Inc. website and provided a copy on DVD.

Frontier Communities is taking advantage of video syndication by adding their content to the Colorado New Homes video portal. We helped prepare the original video we produced for Prairie Walk, and coordinated with the folks from Cherry Creek Marketing Group to make sure the media worked with their platform. LSN Productions and SpotXchange are also involved in the site.

This is a great example of how new communities and developments are using the power of the Internet to get their visual message in front of a large audience.

We finished the first of 4 videos for Frontier Communities showcasing their condominiums and townhomes. The concept from the beginning was simple, provide a visual medium for marketing their communities online to new home buiyers. The process started with a script and loose storyboard, then the filming was scheduled, the video was edited and the voice-over narration recorded. Finally, the video was encoded for delivery through the FrontierLiving.com website.

We also took advantage of the wealth of online video sharing sites to get the video in front of as many viewers as possible. We uploaded the video to our accounts on YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo Video, Daily Motion, Revver, Blip.tv, Treemo, Brightcove and ClickCaster. We will assist Frontier Communities in setting up their XML feed for inclusion in iTunes podcasts, as well as other popular podcasting directories.

OnSight Media has contracted with Frontier Communities to produce custom online videos about their communities in the Denver metro area.

We will begin the project in mid-May with Blue Sky at Vista Ridge in Erie, CO. Stay tuned for examples.
